SUMMARY:Teaching and Honoring Boundaries with Children and Youth: a Prevention Café
DESCRIPTION:Who: All who care for children\, in any way\, who want to learn in a peer-based opportunity.\n\n\nWhat’s different about Parent & Community Cafes compared to parenting classes?  \nCafes are an open and collaborative opportunity to explore questions related to raising and supporting children and youth\, creating healthy families and communities. Self-reflection is encouraged. In a Cafe\, there is no one expert – these are peer spaces where the expertise in each individual is honored. Cafes are strengths based and use the Strengthening Families Protective Factors framework.  \n\nWhat’s different about a Prevention Cafe?  In a Prevention Cafe\, we retain the excellent\, proven structure and “vibe” of a typical Parent & Community Café but replace the personal story with a practical tool from the research into child and family wellbeing.  We spend our time together working directly with this tool. \nWhen:  Thursday\, January 15\, 2026\, 6 to 8 pm on Zoom.\n\nCost?  All Cafés are free to attend.\n \nLanguage and accessibility:  All of our Cafés are bilingual. For this one we will present in English with Spanish interpretation\, and small group conversations will happen in one chosen language. We are also able to offer ASL interpretation with at least one week’s notice.\n\nHow do I sign up?  How do I refer others to sign up? We would love to see you at this Café and also welcome you to refer others.  \nAttached are two flyers – one suitable for posting online\, and the other for direct communication via mailing lists\, individual email\, etc.\nLinks to learn more and register are on the flyers.\n \nFor folks who have not yet attended a CSAW/90by30 Café this school year\, please click HERE to create your “profile” in our registration system.  Then click HERE to register to attend the Café.\n \nIf you already have a profile created\, please click HERE to register for this Café.\n \nIf you are new to Cafés\, or reaching others who may be\, please feel free to check us out at csaw.uoregon.edu\, and learn more through our bilingual FAQ page\, which is attached.
