About the Coalition

The Lane County Violence Prevention Coalition (LCVPC) was established in the fall of 2022 with funding from the Lane County United Way (LCUW) to form a coalition that would develop a county wide violence prevention plan.

LCVPC is committed to building a comprehensive, sustainable, community-based approach to primary prevention of violence including domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, and identity-based violence.

The original Core Agency Partners (CAP) were the executive directors from Hope & Safety Alliance, Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS), Siuslaw Outreach Services (SOS), Kids First, 90by30, and Center for Childhood Safety and Wellbeing (CSAW). Ophelia’s Place joined CAP in 2024.

The Prevention, Action, Coordination Team (PACT) was created in the fall of 2023 to implement the strategies identified by the Core Agency Partners (CAP) group.  CAP agencies assigned staff to participate in PACT.  In addition to the CAP agencies, PACT includes representatives from other community based organizations who are also dedicated to violence prevention and add important perspective and networking opportunities.
